Cape Cod Online Pet Selfie Contest winners
By CAPE COD TIMES
March 17, 2014
EDITOR'S NOTE: Because of an editing error, an earlier version of this article incorrectly stated the first place winner. Copper, submitted by Laurie Glaude of Moosup, Conn., received the most votes.
Despite nearly being swept away by a torrent of cuteness, voters and judges have managed to hold on and choose the winners of capecodonline.com's Pet Selfie Contest .
Nearly 500 entries were received, mainly featuring splendid dogs and cats, but pigs, bunnies and horses nosed their way into the contest. An electric-blue crayfish and a leopard gecko also made appearances.
Two winners were chosen for receiving the most votes by online viewers. They are: “Copper,” submitted by Laurie Glaude of Moosup, Conn., (136 votes) and “ I Love My Baby Back Ribs!!! ,” submitted by Deborah Mathieu of Centerville (118 votes).
Cape Cod Times judges selected two winners: “Best co-pilot ever,” submitted by Trish Feeley of West Yarmouth and “I made some new friends!,” submitted by Lara Bogdanovich of Brewster. "Cooper," submitted by Laurie LeMonds of Auburn, Ala., was also named a winner.
Each winner will receive one $200 gift certificate from one of our contest sponsors: The Cape Cod Dog in Eastham, Paws and Claws in West Chatham, Cape Maid Farms in Hyannis and Barnstable Farm & Pet in West Barnstable.
Check out all the great entries at www.capecodonline.com/petselfie

Correction: Falmouth to vote on $1.6 million capital exclusion
