Correction: NStar equipment not to blame for outage

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A10 of Thursday's Times misstated the cause of the power outage in Wellfleet and Eastham on Wednesday. The cause is unknown but the outage was not because of a failure of NStar equipment, according to spokesman Michael Durand.

A solar energy project that has been proposed by the town of Barnstable and the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative for an area south of Independence Drive in Hyannis is not located on land owned by Independence Park Inc., according to the corporation's president, Mark Thompson.

Because of a reporter's error, a story on Page A1 of Sunday's Times misidentified the location of a sea wall that marine geologist Mark Borrelli blames for scouring a deep channel robbing the tidal flow from the 2007 Chatham break. Borrelli was referring to a sea wall that runs from Holway Street along Watch Hill Way and north.

According to Richard Gallagher, commissioner of the Hyannis Fire District, the residential tax impact in the first year on a home valued at $311,000 would be $42.72. The next year it would rise to $152.78 and drop from there. The total cost over 30 years would be $3,309.73.
