Times incorrect for Taste of Yarmouth trolley tour

Because of a reporting error, a brief on Page A3 of Saturday's Times about the Trolley Tour Taste of Yarmouth on Nov. 8 had the incorrect times. From 4 to 8 p.m., trolleys will carry passengers around town to taste a featured dish at local restaurants. From 8 to 10 p.m., there will be a 375th birthday bash for Yarmouth at 4 Bros. Correction:Townsend counseled on Broadway-style show

Because of reporting errors, a Sound Choice story on Page 7 of Friday's CapeWeek contained incorrect information about the background of the "The Who's 'Tommy'" concert that the band Groovy Afternoon and other local musicians will stage Thursday through Saturday at Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Co-producer/guitarist Paul Mascott did play over 1,000 performances of the Broadway-style show on tour, after being hired and getting some direction by composer Pete Townsend. The lights and projections that will be used in the Cotuit show have been modeled after the Broadway designs.

Correction: Scientist: Cod quotas too high in retrospect

Because of a reporting error, a story on the cod crisis on Page A1 of Sunday's Times misrepresented a statement by National Marine Fisheries Service scientist Michael Palmer. Scientists knew only in retrospect that fishing quotas had been set too high to rebuild Gulf of Maine cod, likely because they had overestimated the current stock size, overestimated how many young fish would be produced, or underestimated how many cod fishermen would catch.

Correction: Sam Wallace takes ferry to Falmouth Academy

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Monday's Times about Martha's Vineyard students commuting to Falmouth Academy did not have the correct first name of one student. Sam Wallace makes the daily ferry trip to school.

Fishing agencies obligated to follow scientific limits
October 15, 2014

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Sunday's Times incorrectly characterized Jake Kritzer's position. Kritzer said that since 2008, the New England Fishery Management Council and National Marine Fisheries Service have been obligated by law to adhere to the limits provided by scientists but subsequent stock assessments have shown that even those limits were too high to rebuild Gulf of Maine cod.

Sarah Thacher is one of trespassing defendants

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Thursday's Times about the upcoming trial of protesters who allegedly trespassed at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station had the incorrect name for defendant Sarah Thacher of East Dennis.

Robert Lowell is character in stage production

Because of a reporting error, the incorrect first name for a character, a real-life poet, in the Lyric Stage Company of Boston's production of "Dear Elizabeth" was given in a review that appeared on Page C2 of Friday's Times.

The correct name is Robert Lowell.

Desiree Azarian story contained two errors

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Sunday's Times contained the incorrect age of Desiree Azarian's mother. She was 29 when Desiree was born. Because of a photographer's error, a photo caption that appeared on Page A1 Sunday incorrectly stated the number of times Azarian has been convicted of operating under the influence of alcohol. She has been convicted four times.

Heritage acknowledged a clerical error

Because of a reporting error, the mistake acknowledged by Heritage Museums & Gardens officials at a Sandwich Zoning Board of Appeals meeting was inaccurately described in a story on Page A1 of Wednesday's Times. Heritage acknowledged that its building permit application for an aerial adventure park contained an incorrect lot number for the project because of a clerical error.

Kevin Howard said the best part of his job at The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod was building support for the cultural community of Cape Cod.

Correction: Coakley would not be first female governor
November 03, 2014

Because of an editing error, a headline on a story on Page A4 of Sunday's Times contained incorrect information about gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley. Coakley would be the first elected female governor in Massachusetts. Jane Swift became acting governor in 2001 after Paul Cellucci resigned to serve as U.S. ambassador to Canada.
