For the record: Sandwich pool repair costs total $980K

Because of a reporter's error, a story on Page 1 of Wednesday's Times had an incorrect amount for a Proposition 2½ capital exclusion to pay for Sandwich High School pool repairs. The total is $980,000, which includes $857,000 for a new mechanical system, money to pay for grout and tile repairs, and 10 percent for "soft costs" not included in the consultant's estimates.

Because of reporter's error, a story on Page A1 of Thursday's Times about the end of the partial government shutdown was unclear about revenue collected by the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Seashore takes 2 percent of the gross fees collected at Highland Light, according to the lease agreement between the park and the Highland Museum and Lighthouse Inc.

Robert Kennedy Jr. was unable to attend the event, but Edward M. Kennedy Jr. did.

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A3 of Thursday's paper misstated the number of vendors at the Falmouth farmers market. Between 15 and 20 attended each week this summer. The story also should have noted that the 3 acres referred to as Peg Noonan Park includes municipal parking lots.

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a listing in the real estate transfers on Page F7 of Sunday's Times gave the wrong name for the buyer of a home at 168 White Moss Drive in Marstons Mills. The buyer was Derrick A. Brown.

Because of an editing error, Janette Anderson's first name was missing from a story on Page A1 in Friday's Times about the naming of a Barnstable bridge after her son, Navy SEAL Kevin Houston, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2011.

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page 1 of Thursday's Times contained incorrect information about the Wampanoag language immersion charter school. The Wopanaak Language Reclamation Project is opening the school, which will serve four Wampanoag tribes and communities: the Assonet Band of Wampanoag, the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe, the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe and the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

Gloucester group paid for porpoise pingers

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page 1 Wednesday about fishermen receiving free signal devices to dissuade porpoises from pilfering fish from their nets gave the wrong organization credit for the program. The Gloucester Fishing Community Preservation Fund acquired 4,800 pingers at a cost of more than $330,000.

Because of an editing error, a story on Page A1 of the Nov. 15 edition about churches receiving Community Preservation Act contained incorrect information about the 1717 Meetinghouse in West Barnstable. The meetinghouse and the acre of land where it sits is owned by West Parish of Barnstable. The 1717 Meetinghouse Foundation Inc. is charged with the building's preservation and maintenance. The CPA grant was awarded to the foundation for maintenance of the meetinghouse.

Correction: Generator backfeed can endanger others

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Tuesday's paper about generators had an inaccurate quote from NStar spokesman Michael Durand. The backfeed from a generator hooked into the electric grid can not only endanger utility workers but also flow into the electrical system of nearby homes and cause problems or danger for neighbors, he said.

Correction: SUV in crash had adult and child in vehicle

Because of a reporting error, a story on a Harwich car accident on Page A2 of Tuesday's Times incorrectly identified the occupants of each vehicle. There was an adult driver and a child in the SUV but only a driver in the car.

After being stopped and found in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, Paul McHugh Jr. was issued a civil citation.

Because of a photographer's error, a headline and caption on Page B1 of Sunday's Cape Cod Times contained incorrect information about the number of wreaths laid on graves at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Saturday as part of the national Wreaths Across America program. There were about 3,000 wreaths laid on graves at the cemetery.

Correction: Graphic in deer hunt story omitted data

Because of a reporting error, a graphic on Page A1 of Sunday's Cape Cod Times omitted a year's worth of data from deer hunts on Nantucket since 2005. The average annual number of deer harvested on the island during the eight seasons from 2005 through 2012 was 549.

Correction: Babesiosis diagnosed after hospitalization

Because of a reporter's error, a story on Page 1 of Sunday's Times about babesiosis contained incorrect information about Joyce McConnell's case.

McConnell said her doctor's office took a blood sample but she called an ambulance and was hospitalized with babesiosis before results were in. She was told by a landscaper she employed that the woman's babesiosis had been mistakenly diagnosed as summer flu.

Correction: Orleans wastewater proposal passed as ballot item

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page 3 of Thursday's Times contained incorrect information about a ballot question on the $3.5 million wastewater system design proposal in Orleans. The proposal passed as a ballot question in May.

Correction: Skaters misidentified

Because of incorrect information submitted to the Times, the caption of a photo accompanying a story about the U.S. Figure Skating Championships on Page C1 of Friday's Times misidentified a pair of skaters. The photo is of Chris Knierim and Alexa Scimeca, both 2013 silver medalists, and was supplied by Denterlein, a public relations firm.
