Camp Edwards: Then & Now Open House Oct. 23 & 24
The public is invited to Camp Edwards on the Massachusetts Military Reservation on Cape Cod on October 23rd and 24th to attend our Open House showcasing the base’s history and its current mission.
Come see the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and World War II encampments complete with role players and vehicles of the era as well as displays chronicling the WWII history of the base. Saturday will feature the National Lancers, mounted honor guard.
Tour the Tactical Training Base Kelley; a replica of a Forward Operating Base, an individual military city residing at Camp Edwards designed to simulate military life in Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Balkans. On display will be aircraft and military vehicles and artillery and weapons, along with information and kids games and activities teaching about the base’s natural resources and sustainable military training.
Information will also be on hand about the Massachusetts Army and Air National Guard and the US Coast Guard.
Concessions will be available.
The Open House will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is welcome and admission and parking are free. Please enter through the Main Gate off the Otis Rotary in Bourne.
