Critter Tracks
Mild: If I'm first up in the morning, I turn set the kettle to boil and get the paper. This morning I heard the "doop-doop-doop-doop-doop-doop-doop-doop" of little footsteps on the roof. I used the back door to see what kind of critter it was. A squirrel. I'll have to go up on the porch roof and sweep off any acorns that might still be there. Clean gutters too.
Wild: Reports of two coyotes walking through the back yard last night. Even if I was present, I wouldn't have been Minuteman status. There is too much clutter around my trusty bow and two arrows. I have once before 'bopped' a coyote with a rubber tipped arrow, I have a pointy arrow as a back-up. I've been looking to get a really pointy arrow to back that one up. I probably would have thrown a golf ball in a hit or miss proposition. I heard a gang/group/family/pack of coyotes howling a couple nights ago; too late to go and track them down though.
Note to self: burn boxes of twigs to reduce clutter.

Critter Tracks in print
Salvaged from the old Page 0 site:
I looked around the net for a template to use here but it would have been some links to other sites. None really impressed me. I was looking to figure out the Canis prints in my yard were. Some dog or coyote?
I didn't really pay attention soon enough. Right after the last snow I saw tracks from the local cats, a rabbit and the assorted squirrels and birds in the back yard. A couple days later I saw some tracks that were some kind of dog-critter. I'll pay better attention next snow.
Here's a nice chart from the Commonwealth:

House Bunnies
I've noticed a lot of rabbits near the house recently. Not out back in the yard but very close to the house. There was one happily eating grass 20 yards away last night while I was grilling dinner last night. Perhaps they know I'm not a danger and my presence might keep the coyote critters away.
Notice to bunnies: I'm OK with you eating grass, perhaps you could work on the dandelions, BUT stay out of the gahden or it's Wabbit Season!

Miracle Grow bunny food
Generally, coyotes won`t go after anything taller than them... worth a shot.

Nothing but cat tracks after the snow.

Re: Critter Tracks
I took a ride down the powerlines looking for Critter Tracks. Didn't see any until I was getting close to home. I think they are crow. Maybe someone knows about crows here.

`s?
Ya, I`ve seen those handsome creatures recently !! in fact there was a double crow feature- front row seat- on the windowsill yesterday afternoon. They were some mad at the seagulls who spotted the `s food.
Well there is one less gull these days...........
I am innocent
