Because of a reporting error, Sharon Hughes was misidentified in the Education Briefs column on Page A3 of the Dec. 23 Times. Hughes is assistant principal at Harwich Elementary School.

Story wrong about company suing Charlton

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Thursday's Times included incorrect information about the marijuana company suing the town of Charlton. Valley Green Grow Inc. is suing the town.

Claim about rail trail was editorial board’s

Because of an editing error, a My View commentary on Page A9 of Monday’s Times misattributed a statement about a rail trail extension in Wellfleet. The sentence should have read: “The Times editorial board is incorrect when it claims that state officials offered a public walk-through of the bike path extension after the Oct. 22 public hearing.”

Billionaires’ net worth underestimated

Because of an editing error, a letter to the editor on Page A8 of Saturday’s Times misrepresented the net worth of the top four U.S. billionaires.

The figures cited represent approximately 20 percent of their wealth.

Cost of health proposal $32T over 10 years

Because of an editing error, a My View column on Page A8 of Thursday’s Times misstated the estimated cost of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed system of “Medicarefor- all.” It is $32 trillion over 10 years.

For the Record Photographer’s name missing from caption

Because of a production error, photographer Ron Schloerb’s name was omitted from the lunar eclipse photo on Page A3 of Tuesday’s paper.

Scott admitted to sufficient facts on gun charges

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Saturday's Times gave an incorrect plea for Mark Scott on gun charges. Scott admitted to sufficient facts for a guilty finding on four counts of improper storage of a firearm, and his case was continued without a finding for one year.

Lease on Nauset property has no option to buy

Because of a reporting error, a story about Nauset Knoll Motor Lodge on Page A1 of Monday’s Times included incorrect information about the terms of the new lease on the National Park Service property. The property is not available for purchase.

Because of a writer's error, an editorial on Page A7 of Tuesday's Times misidentified NOAA. It stands for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Peake will speak at Presidents Day brunch

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, an item in the Political Notes column on Page A3 of Tuesday's Times gave the wrong roster of speakers for a coming political event.

State Rep. Sarah Peake, D-Provincetown, will speak at the Harwich Democratic Town Committee's 20th annual JFK Presidents’ Day Brunch at 10 a.m. Feb. 18 at 400 East Restaurant in East Harwich.

Profession of woman charged with 3rd OUI wrong in court item

Because of a reporting error, an item on Page A2 of Saturday's Times incorrectly identified the profession of Kellie Brown of Falmouth, who was charged with operating under the influence, third offense, after a crash in Bourne. Brown is a home health aide, according to a police report.

Woman charged with OUI did not work at restaurant

Because of a reporting error, an item on Page A2 of Wednesday’s Times included incorrect information about a woman who was charged with operating under the influence after a crash in Orleans. Alison Punch, 32, of Orleans told police she and a coworker had some drinks and dinner at a Brewster pizza restaurant but she did not work there, according to a police report.

Magician to perform at cultural center

Because of an editing error, a photo caption on Page 11 of Friday’s CapeWeek supplement listed the wrong location for a school vacation show by Marcus the Magician. He will perform at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth.

Assembly vote on county budget months away

A story about the county budget process that appeared on Page A4 of Saturday's Times contained wrong information. The Regional Board of Commissioners has sent the budget to the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates for review and approval, and the assembly will conduct departmental reviews and hold a public hearing before it votes on the budget in late April or early May. The budget is then sent back to the commissioners for final approval.

Stripers Forever position misstated

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Saturday's Times misstated the position of the striped bass conservation organization Stripers Forever. Game fish status for striped bass does not preclude fishermen taking home fish for personal consumption. Also, Stripers Forever board member Dean Clark's statement on the need for a moratorium on striped bass harvest was a personal opinion, not a position of Stripers Forever.

Offshore wind goal sets 2035 target date

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Wednesday's Times misstated New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s offshore wind goal. Cuomo’s goal is 9,000 megawatts by 2035.

No final agreement on off-Cape brewery

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A3 of Friday's Times incorrectly stated the nature of an agreement between the Provincetown Brewing Co. and an off-Cape brewery. The brewing company does not yet have a formal agreement to produce beer at off-Cape premises.

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, the name of a performer was misspelled in a concert listing on Page 11 of Friday’s CapeWeek magazine. Deirdre Brenner and Sarah Craft will perform “Songs Of Nature” at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth.

Charter changes need legislative

approval

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Friday’s Times about Provincetown’s special election had incorrect information about the town’s charter changes. The changes must be approved by the Legislature.

College prayer service planned for March 6

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a brief on Page B1 of Sunday's edition listed the wrong date for a World Day of Prayer service at Cape Cod Community College. It will be at 3 p.m. March 6 at Lorusso Solarium.

Deadline for shark study findings incorrect

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Tuesday’s Times included the wrong deadline for the completion of a feasibility study on shark barriers sought by the town of Chatham. The deadline for the study findings is 45 days after a contract is awarded for the work

New album named ‘Sharing the Covers’

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page 10 of Friday’s CapeWeek magazine had the incorrect name of Chatham County Line’s new album. It is called “Sharing the Covers.”

Town support mischaracterized

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A1 of Wednesday's edition inaccurately described the amount of municipal funds used on the West Chatham Route 28 project. The state Department of Transportation is using $3.49 million in federal highway money to reconstruct 1,700 feet of state highway. Although the total amount is still not clear, Chatham's accounts payable ledger has invoices totaling $416,785 paid out for design and engineering over the 10-year history of the project, according to Chatham Finance Director Alix Heilala. Town officials believe most of that amount went to the Route 28 upgrade.

Deadline for herbicide comments is April 19

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, the My View column on Page A8 of Wednesday’s edition provided the incorrect date for the deadline to submit comments to the state on Eversource’s use of herbicides along public rights of way. The date is April 19, at 5 p.m. Also, because of incorrect information on a state website, the email address where comments should be directed was incorrect. It is clayton.I.edwards@state.ma.us.

Former professor misidentified

Due to a reporting error, a story on Page A1 in the March 10 edition of the Cape Cod Times misidentified Kevin Kemper. He is a former assistant professor of journalism at the University of Arizona.

Name in photo caption wrong

Because of a photographer’s error, the caption of a photo on Page A1 of Saturday’s Times included the wrong spelling for USA Kung Fu Academy instructor Cynthia Eagar.

Lt. governor typically not at hearings

Because of an editing error, a story on Page A3 of Thursday’s Times incorrectly stated why Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito did not attend a Governor’s Council hearing on the nomination of Barnstable District Judge Kathryn Hand to the state Appeals Court. The lieutenant governor does not typically attend those hearings but presides over the council’s formal assemblies.

Bail agreement mischaracterized in story

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A2 of Wednesday's Times incorrectly characterized the agreement by prosecutors in connection with bail for Nichole Sheehan. Cape and Islands First Assistant District Attorney Brian Glenny agreed that Sheehan, who is charged with lying to a grand jury, should be released on personal recognizance and that she would not be allowed to have contact with any witnesses involved in the underlying case or subjects of the alleged perjury.

No vote planned at hearing on tribe bill

Because of an editing error, the headline of a story on Page A1 of Thursday's Times incorrectly characterized the nature of a hearing scheduled Wednesday on the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Reservation Reaffirmation Act. The hearing does not include a planned vote on the bill.

Barnstable Democrats to meet Wednesday

Because of a reporting error, the date for an upcoming Barnstable Democratic Town Committee was incorrect in Tuesday's Political Notes column. The committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Centerville Recreation Building. Patrick Princi, the town's delegate to the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates, will be the guest speaker.

Provincetown preschool has 19 children

Because of a reporting error, the number of preschool children in the Provincetown schools and the funding source of a Provincetown school trip to Costa Rica were incorrect in a story that ran on Page A1 of the March 24 edition. There are 19 children in the preschool and fundraisers cover most of the cost of the trip.
