Kevin Lima sentenced for stealing from veteran

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A2 of Wednesday's Times contained incorrect information about who was sentenced in the case of a man who pleaded guilty to stealing from a disabled veteran. Kevin Lima, 36, of Acushnet, was sentenced to two years in the Barnstable County Correctional Facility with 48 days to serve, deemed served.

Wrong actress listed in ‘Birdie’ review

Because of a reporting error, the wrong actress was listed as playing Mrs. Mae Peterson in the review of Barnstable Comedy Club’s “Bye Bye Birdie” on Page C4 of Saturday’s Times. Amy Kraskouskas plays that character in the show that continues through Nov. 20.

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Monday’s Times contained incorrect information about who helped discover the caboose on the shipwreck of the Whydah. Chris Macort was not present when the caboose was discovered

Number of Keating’s terms incorrect

Because of an editing error, a story on Page A3 of Wednesday's Times about Tuesday's re-election of Rep William Keating, D-Mass., did not state the correct number of terms he has served in the office.

This will be Keating's fourth term representing Cape Cod and the Islands, his third in the 9th District.

Nantucket man pleaded not guilty in rape case

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A2 of Wednesday's paper contained incorrect information about a Nantucket man accused of rape.

David Matterson, 36, pleaded not guilty in Nantucket Superior Court to six counts of aggravated rape during the commission of a felony, four counts of kidnapping, four counts of assault and battery, four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, three counts of home invasion, three counts of breaking and entering at nighttime to commit a felony, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault to rape.

Turbine court action initiated by town

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A3 of Wednesday’s Times contained incorrect information about the wind turbine- related lawsuit going to trial this week. The suit was brought by the town of Falmouth, which is appealing a determination by the Zoning Board of Appeals that the turbines are a nuisance at property owned by Barry and Diane Funfar.

Council to be briefed today on herring plan

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Wednesday’s Times contained the wrong date for when the New England Fishery Management Council will be presented with a proposed amendment to the Atlantic herring management plan. The council will be briefed on Amendment 8 today.

Editing error changed letter writer’s intent

Because of an editing error, the meaning was changed of the first sentence of a letter to the editor on Page A8 of Wednesday’s Times. The letter, headlined “Legal assisted suicide too vulnerable to abuse,” should have begun: “Proponents of legalization like Elias Lieberman present assisted suicide as a fairy tale in which doctors can predict the future and everyone wants the best for us.”

Name of state DEP spokesman incorrect

Because of an editing error, a story on Page A3 of Wednesday’s Times about the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority terminal project misstated the name of Edmund Coletta, spokesman for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
