I chatted with Admin, and some sites you can get to, some are members only.

I should start a membership drive, like PBS but without pledges and tote bags.
I had hoped for a better turnout from the CCTimes forums gang to enjoy a Sunday page
Oh well, the site is doing better than the Socialist Party of eCanada.
I should spend a bit more time making this a better place.

Back to #58, I tweaked a few things today, nothing major.
A few permissions were granted, a couple features explored.. I have yet to get the new emoticons. We'll see how motivated I get this week.

I invited a couple people but got no new members, they stop by as guests. They really don't have a great connection with Cape Cod.
I had hoped more people would stop by, I was figuring 10 - 20, but I didn't get my act together before the Cape Cod Times Forums closed.

I`ve got friends ! Some use facebook. The others don`t use computers at all.
The time I have is limited for computers. Mostly I use it for research. I sure don`t have the time or the interest in facebook.

I'm not looking for Facebook / Internet Junkies, just some people that read Cape Cod news and would like a somewhat better newspaper.
I'd like the CC Times to be a good "Just the facts Ma'am" paper. With some integrity. And writing skills. Better than mine. I don't limit myself to the Times, I think all newspapers should be held to a high standard.
I'm not going to do any hard-core journalism beyond my interests. I cut, copy and paste stuff that I see as train wrecks of the internet. I was never was and will never be a source of news. I just poke the ribs of the media for their faults.
And that's my roll of the dice.

The door here swings both ways, anyone who signs up doesn`t have to stay. Yet its the best site I know of to read, learn, share, laugh ! The humor here is outstanding...
In essense, be whoever you are with No judgements. Thats one of the best parts in my opinion. No cliques or putting others down for expressing their opinions, thoughts, feelings. Much to be said about this. No high school crap. Or one-up-manship, nor any he said /she said shit.

Nothing on "Forumotion.com" this site's forum provider. A search of "Cape Cod" got this forum, then "Cape" or "Cod". A quick Google of "Cape Cod Forum" has tons, I didn't look beyond a few pages. The Cape Cod Times forums is still listed and we know they no longer exist.
Plenty of travel, fishing, boating, etc sites though. A lot of forums with fewer topics and posts than this one too. Go figure. I think I can put "Cape Cod" as a searchable term in the forum profile.

I asked the crew from Cape Cod Times in it's floundering days, but it didn't work. I refuse to have the free-for-all that Cape Cod Today has become walk through my forum doors. I invited from Cape Cod Talk, but no hits.
Ideally I'd like to have the same story covered by a few different papers and the reader replies. I see guests looking from Cape Cod. I also see from all across the USA, some Brit and Europe, a Korean and an Aussie. (Click on who is Watching)

At the bottom of the Main Page, click on "Who is online"
A world map will appear with arrows where the people online are (sometimes). You can zoom in to see (kinda) where these people are.
Under the map you can see what part of the forum said people are looking at.
"Bots" stop by to "take a picture" of the site to keep the Google thingy up to date.
