For the record: Trooper did not mention field sobriety tests

Because of a reporter's error, a story about a state police investigation on Page A1 of Saturday's Times incorrectly paraphrased statements made by State Trooper Steven Culver to Orleans Police Deputy Chief Scott MacDonald about the traffic stop of an off-duty Orleans police officer.

Culver told MacDonald that probable cause had not been established to make an arrest in the case.

He did not refer to field sobriety tests, which are not mandatory in Massachusetts.

For the record: Man named in court report is homeless

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, an address was wrong in the Falmouth District Court report published on Page C5 of Friday's Times. Clifford T. Johnson is now listed as homeless in the court record.

Correction: Housing authority criticized, but not censured

Because of a reporting error, a story about the Provincetown Housing Authority on Page A1 of Wednesday's Times had incorrect information about the state Department of Housing and Community Development. The state agency criticized the housing authority in a written statement to the Times for allowing a rental unit to remain unoccupied for eight months but did not officially censure the authority.

Correction: Chatham selectman did not back recall

Because of a reporting error, a story on Page A1 of Sunday’s Times contained wrong informa­tion about the former chairman of the Chatham Board of Select­men. Leonard Sussman did not back a recall campaign against three other selectmen after the board voted in November 2010 not to renew Town Manager Wil­liam Hinchey’s contract.

Suspicious car near different address

Because of incorrect information provided to the Times, a story on Page A2 of Friday's paper about a shooting on Lakewood Drive in Mashpee misidentified an address where Mashpee police found a suspicious car. The car was found near 18 Juniper Drive, Mashpee.

Facts incorrect in Orleans court report

Because of a reporting error, the disposition of charges in Orleans District Court on Jan. 31 against Pamela MacKenney, of 66 John Nelson Way, Harwich, published Feb. 1, was incorrect. MacKenney admitted sufficient facts to larceny of a credit card, larceny of a value more than $250 and improper use of a credit card Aug. 5 in Harwich; the case was continued without a finding for two years, with $1,560 in court costs and $90 in fees imposed.

Correction: Wrong driver ID'd

Because of incorrect information supplied to the Times, a brief on Page A5 of Friday's Times about a Wellfleet accident on Wednesday misidentified the driver. Lynn Hiller of Wellfleet suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the crash is under investigation, police said.

For the record: Herbicide treatment will continue

Due to a reporting error, the amount of herbicide to be used under NStar's Integrated Vegetation Management Plan was incorrect in a story on Page 1 of Thursday's Cape Cod Times. Although the utility plans to reduce the amount of herbicide use over time as the low-lying plants take over, herbicide use will not cease entirely, NStar spokesman Michael Durand said.

Because of a reporter's error, information about the sentence served by a Cape Cod man was incorrectly reported in a story that appeared on Page A10 of Tuesday's Times. Christopher Baker did not get an early release from jail. He got credit for time served before pleading guilty and served three days short of three years in jail.

9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Falmouth Service Center.
8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Dennisport municipal parking lot.
8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, Lower Cape Outreach Council, Orleans.
The center's hours at 94 Main St. in Hyannis are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Fridays and 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
