GROUNDED OSPRE Y
A U.S. Air Force V-22 Osprey has been parked at Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis for most of the week for repairs. The Osprey, which is designed not only for vertical takeoffs and landings like a helicopter but also horizontal flight like an airplane, has been plagued by crashes and maintenance problems during testing and operations. Airport Assistant Manager Frank Sanchez said Thursday that the Osprey landed at the airport early Tuesday morning with engine problems. A second Osprey dropped off a new crew and mechanic, he said.
